One of the questions that some researchers have asked is that are women-led businesses weathering these turbulent times better than those led by men?
IFRC Vietnam, which has launched a family of Vietnam WOMEN CEO indices, seems to be providing the first answers. These indices were launched in March 2013, and recalculated backwards from 2008, report an annual return greater than 20% over these 15 years, a return 10% higher than that of the representative VNI index of the Vietnamese Stock market . In addition, over the more recent period 2020-2023, their cumulative return is about 80%, much higher compared to 6% of the VNIindex.
WOMEN CEOs, although often very under-represented, do not only play the role of “firefighter” to resolve crisis situations, as certain research publications point out, but are really very efficient in the management of their companies in long term.
